When air is compressed and cooled down, the water is condensed. Condensed water must be drained from the system before it goes into prefilter and dryer.

In order to take condensed water in the compressed air system out,

  • There must be a wet tank after the compressor and before the dryer.
  • The air coming from the compressor must be connected to lower end of the tank and air must come out from the top of the tank.
  • The water in the wet tank and the pre-filter must be drained regularly. A use of electronic drains is to be preferred to ensure water is drained at correct intervals.
  • When water is drained from the tank and the pre-filter, the discharge period must be long enough so that before discharge period ends there will be only air that is discharging.
  • Pre-filter element and Post-filter elements must be changed whenever compressor is serviced.
  • The intervals and duration of the auto drain at the pre-filter and the one inside dryer discharging water must be set properly so that there will not be excess amount of water left in between discharges and discharge period is long enough to drain all the water accumulated.
  • Dryer internal timed-water drain must be cleaned and working properly, not blocked.
  • Fuses inside and outside of the dryer must be intact , not blown.
